Natalia is a Ph.D. student at the University of Delaware focusing on MLL and FLT3 mutations in pediatric leukemia. Her project uses gene editing techniques to study and recapitulate the leukemic mutations in human CD34+ cells. She received her B.S. in cellular and molecular biology from University of Puerto Rico-Rio Piedras Campus in 2012. Natalia joined the lab in 2013 for her M.S. (2015) in biology from Delaware State University where she focused on gene editing using TALENs and ssODNs. In January 2017, Natalia became the first Andrew McDonough B+ Foundation Fellow.
