Shirin Modarai, Ph.D.
Shirin’s current focus is on the targeting and gene editing of human CD34+ cells using ribonucleoprotein (RNP) particles. She received her B.A. and M.S. in biology from Rutgers University, and worked full-time at the Coriell Institute for Medical Research in the Stem Cell Biology and Matrix Laboratory. She earned her Ph.D. from the University of Delaware in the Cell and Organ Systems Biology program, and her dissertation focused on the stem cell and neuroendocrine cell phenotypes in normal and malignant colonic cells.
