Delaware is a unique state as it is the only State in the Nation that has neither a medical school nor a graduate school in public health.\u00a0 Thus, ChristianaCare, the largest healthcare system in the state, plays a unique role in both medical training and research.\u00a0 Our healthcare system was one of the first in the Nation to establish an embedded research institute named iREACH to understand and implement solutions oriented toward improving human health.\u00a0\u00a0 We are committed to making health care safer, more effective, efficient, and equitable in order to provide better care for the community we serve.\u00a0 As the premiere research institute within the health care system, we were tasked with quickly pivoting our work toward understanding the pandemic from all aspects, including its impact on healthcare resources.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
