Coronavirus: Research Guidance for the ChristianaCare Community >

About Us

Delaware is a unique state as it is the only State in the Nation that has neither a medical school nor a graduate school in public health.  Thus, ChristianaCare, the largest healthcare system in the state, plays a unique role in both medical training and research.  Our healthcare system was one of the first in the Nation to establish an embedded research institute named the Institute for Research on Equity and Community Health (iREACH) to understand and implement solutions oriented toward improving human health.   We are committed to making health care safer, more effective, efficient, and equitable in order to provide better care for the community we serve.  As the premiere research institute within the health care system, we were tasked with quickly pivoting our work toward understanding the pandemic from all aspects, including its impact on healthcare resources.
