Conflict of Interest
The Human Research Protection Office (HRPO) reviews researchers’ financial disclosure statements for any potential significant financial interests (SFI). A SFI exists when the Institution, through its designated official(s), reasonably determines that an Investigator’s SFI is related to research projects and could directly and significantly affect the design, conduct, or reporting of the research. The HRPO collaborates and meets regularly with members of Corporate Compliance, OSP, and the Legal Department to review, evaluate, and manage any SFI to ensure it is reduced or eliminated.
